Locate the Outlook files in

Windows Vista(R)


1. You want to make sure, that hidden folders are visible
2. Open the “WIndows Explorer"
3. Choose "Organize" and "Folder and Search Options" 4. Activate the tab [View]
5. Scroll down to find the radio button “Hidden files and folders”
6. Check the radio button “Show All Files and Folders”
7. Confirm with [OK]
8. Double click on the local drive “C:”
9. Double click on the directory “Users”
10. Double click on the subdirectory “YOUR NAME”
11. Double click on the subdirectory “AppData”
12. Double click on the subdirectory “Local”
13. Double click on the subdirectory “Microsoft”
14. Double click on the subdirectory “Outlook”
15. Here you find the file "OUTLOOK.PST" – these are your Outlook files


Locate the Outlook or Outlook Express files in

Windows XP(R)


1. You want to make sure, that hidden folders are visible
2. Open “My Computer" from the desktop
3. Go to the menu and choose - [Folder options]
4. Activate the tab [View]
5. Scroll down to find the radio button “Hidden files and folders”
6. Check the radio button “Show All Files and Folders”
7. Confirm with [OK]
8. Double click on the local drive “C:”
9. Double click on the directory “Documents and Settings”
10. Double click on the subdirectory “YOUR NAME”
11. Double click on the subdirectory “Local Settings”
12. Double click on the subdirectory “Application Data”

14. Double click on the subdirectory with the weird numbers i.e.“{688AD635-E0FB-436A-9E6F-A76395311365}”
15. Here you find all the files with the extension .DB – these are your Express files

15. Here you find all the files with the extension .PST – these are your Outlook files
