2. Boost your creativity by using Mindmaps
Our left brain is responsible predominantly for our Logic, Language, Sequential order, Problem solving, Numerical and Intellectual knowledge.
On the other side our right brain works with Emotions, Creativity, Artistic, Spatial order, Colours and Daydreaming.
A mind map is the ideal tool to tap into both sides of the brain at the same time. You will come up with new ideas and insights. And it’s a very fast process.
The beauty of using then a software to capture your mind map is, that you have immediately a list at your hand to use in any other software you want. You can export your Mindmap to word - for starting a whole new document or to Outlook – for adding a list of tasks. You can even export the Mindmap to PowerPoint it will create a slideshow where each major point from your Mindmap becomes a slide in the show – amazing.
If you knew me, you have seen me running around with mind maps all day every day. I just think this is the best and fastest way to capture your creativity or even more foster and spark your creativity in the first place.
Our recommended software is call VisiMap Professional – it’s very simple to use and you probably won’t need any training in this.
Sue, check out VisiMap and get yourself a 30 day trial version – it’s an amazing software.
Here’s the definition from Wikipedia…
A mind map is a diagram used to represent words, ideas, tasks or other items linked to and arranged radial around a central key word or idea. It is used to generate, visualise, structure and classify ideas, and as an aid in study, organisation, problem solving, and decision making.
It is an image-centred diagram that represents semantic or other connections between portions of information. By presenting these connections in a radial, non-linear graphical manner, it encourages a brainstorming approach to any given organisational task, eliminating the hurdle of initially establishing an intrinsically appropriate or relevant conceptual framework to work within.
